This handsome boy came in to animal control as an another stray whose owners didn’t care enough to look for. He was transferred to the Etowah Valley Humane Society facility the day before he was scheduled to be euthanized to give him little bit more time to get adopted. Please give this dog another chance in life before he runs out of time.

Pirate is a great dog. Attentive and outgoing. Obedient and enthusiastic. Proud. Friendly towards people and gets along with other dogs. Doesn’t seem to be a big barker. Rides well in cars and leash trained. Strong and agile, with great stamina. Smart.

Pirate is around 1-1/2 yrs old and weights close to 65 lbs. His right eye had been removed sometime ago. That does not effect him in any way and it does not require additional care.

He is up to date on Distemper/Parvo shots and Rabies vaccination, dewormed (tapeworms, hookworms and whipworms) and he has been heartworm tested (he is negative). He also has been (or is scheduled to be) neutered. The adoption fee includes microchip and microchip registration. You will also receive a coupon for free vet check done by a participating veterinarian.

Ricky is a very handsome red tri Aussie with a natural bobbed tail.  He is fantastic with kids, dogs and cats and knows many obedience commands.

Ricky was turned in by his family because he just wasn’t the right fit for their home.  Ricky’s former family claimed that he suffers from submissive urination, but his foster family has only seen one incident of this when his foster Dad greeted him a little too exuberantly.

Ricky loves meeting new people and is just a joy to have around.  He walks nicely on leash, loves playing fetch and belly rubs.  There’s just nothing negative we can say - Ricky’s got it all…looks and smarts.  He’s a wonderful dog who deserves a positive and loving home that will cherish him forever.  Ricky is fostered in Smyrna, GA.

Patti is a sweet young sable merle Aussie with a docked tail and one marbled blue eye and one brown eye.  She’s got the cutest freckles on her legs and stomach.

Patti spent a month at a local animal control facility when one of our volunteers happened upon her while visiting another dog.  Patti made such an impression the foster volunteer took her home.

Patti is a sweet girl with an energetic personality.  She so far is neutral with the other dogs in her foster home and made fast friends with her foster Dad.  She has a bit of a counter surfing problem, but her foster home is teaching her some manners posthaste.

Patti hasn’t shown much interest in the foster kitty in her home so far and has proven to be housebroken.  We’ll be evaluating her over the next couple of weeks and will post updated photos and information as we get to know her better.

Etta and her siblings found their way to Fayette County Shelter when they were abandoned at the county dump in 12/2008.  Etta is around six months old and is a red bi Aussie mix.

Etta is a typical Aussie puppy, energetic, fun loving and intelligent.  However, she is proving too energetic for the older Sheepdog in her home.

Etta’s owner is a seeking a loving home knowledgeable with the breed.

Georgia

Poor little Georgia. Before today, she didn't even have a name let alone someone to care about her well being. She had been used to produce puppies like the ones you see sold at the flea markets. She is emaciated, has some permanent fur loss, eye infection, and heartworms. Her skin infection requires weekly medicated baths and her spay is going to be a complicated surgery thanks to the poor care she received during previous litters. She also needs several root canals. As she has such poor teeth, she can only eat canned food.

Georgia will start her heartworm treatment on March 30.

Twila was found wandering the streets of Savannah. She was turned into Chatham County Animal Control. Her finder contacted CPR to take her out for adoption. Twila is so far housebroken and tolerant of other dogs. She does have cataracts in both eyes but is able to follow you around the house just fine. She just needs a place to spend her twilight years.

Hershey, the last of six aussie/lab mixes born 11/17/08 was adopted but sadly returned as she was not happy living in an apartment setting. Her ideal home would be one with a fenced yard and a family that has plenty of time to spend with her. Hershey has lots of energy and loves to run and play and has a splendid time with all her foster brothers and sisters.. She can be a bit timid at first but quickly warms up and loves all the attention you can give her. She is up to date on all her shots, current on her HW and flea prevention and is housebroken.
